Is Siraj really free?

Yes. There are no ads, no subscription and no in-app purchases. It is built as an ongoing charity, not as a product.

Does it work offline?

Almost entirely, after a one-time setup. On first launch Siraj downloads the mushaf database and the page fonts — about 90 MB — which keeps the install itself around 32 MB. After that the Qur'an, prayer times, Qibla, azkar, tasbih and zakat all work with no connection. Recitation audio, extra tafsir and the printed PDF editions are downloaded per item when you want them.

What does Siraj collect about me?

Nothing. There is no analytics SDK, no crash reporter and no account. The app contains no upload code at all, so your bookmarks, notes and prayer journal stay in a database on your phone. The only servers it contacts are the ones holding the Qur'an data, the recitations and the adhan recordings — and it identifies itself to them with nothing but the app name.

Can I change the language without changing my phone's language?

Yes. English, Arabic, Turkish and Urdu are switched inside Siraj and applied immediately, and Arabic and Urdu flip the whole interface right to left. You can also choose Arabic-Indic numerals and a 12 or 24 hour clock separately.

Will the adhan be on time if my phone is asleep?

Yes. Siraj arms Android alarm-clock alarms, the same class of alarm your morning alarm uses, which Doze and battery saver are not allowed to defer. It keeps seven days armed at a time and rebuilds them after a reboot, an app update or a timezone change.
